Engagement Peak or Biffy Peak is a very short but very steep hike. It is located near Exshaw and is 50 minute drive from Calgary. This hike is a good before or after work trail. It is also good in shoulder season as the snow will melt early. I would not attempt in winter due to it being so steep. We did it in the evening and the valley was stunning in this light.

The trailhead
From Calgary drive 50 minutes west. Pass the Stoney Nakoda gas station. Just prior to Heart Creek parking lot there is grassy area on the left of the Highway 1. Drive to the Heart Creek parking lot to turn around, pull off on the highway. You can also park at the Heart Creek Parking lot and meet up with the hike.

The Hike
The hike starts out on a very wide bike path, you will very soon notice a pink flagging tape on your left. Turn here. The hike is extremely steep the whole way and at times the trail can be slippery or rocky. The trail heads through the forest with intermittent views of the valleys. You soon will crest your first hill. This is not the top. Go down and you will make your way through the forest again before heading up and to an open grassy area. Once at the top you have views of the valley below. There is a small wooden structure which I am unsure what it is for.

Side Notes
- This hike is off of the Highway 1 so it can be loud.
- This is a great half day hike.
- The Stoney Nakoda Esso has a Tim Hortons.
