This short, steep hike is perfect for before work or after work. Quickly from leaving the road you are greeted by magnificent views of the valley. The end of this hike can be a little technical and should be considered if picking it for children or dogs. This hike is not suitable for winter as it is past the winter gate.

The Trailhead
From Calgary get to Bragg Creek using Highway 1, Highway 8 or Highway 22X. Take the 66, you will pass the winter gate near elbow falls. The trailhead is when you crest the hill you will see a pull out with an info sign. It is unmarked. There are no toilets or garbage cans. You will notice a grass meadow beside the pullout.
The Hike
The trail starts out in the meadow, heading up towards the forest. Hiking in the forest for while, the ascent is steep. Soon you will come to a small flat plateau with a viewpoint of the valley below. Veer right to climb up the forest, where you pop out the forest to an open rocky area. Soon you reach the top where you can see the valley and the powder face mountain below.

- This hike is in Kananaskis, you will need a pass, buy online.
- This hike is past the winter gate. The winter gate is closed from December-May.
- This hike is short and steep and good for before /after work.
- There is no cellphone service.
